Comparison of the lacti dehydrogenase isozyme activities in the uteri of young and old rabbits

Abstract
|
|
|
1) The authors, in the present paper, compared the differences in the activities of LDH isozymes in the uteri of less than 2-month-old and more than 1-year-old rabbits.
2) The young rabbits prowed to have preponderance in the M-LDH than in the H-LDH activity in their uteri, showing the relative proportion of 84.43 % in the former and 4.94% in the latter, and the preponderance was more marked in the old rabbits, revealing the proportion of 94.57% in the former and 5.43%, in the latter, to comprise M.H-LDH ratis of 4.94 for the young and of 17.64 for the old rabbits.
3) With aging the rabbit uterus is suggested to have increased M-LDH and decreased H-LDH, for which a brief discussion was made in the light of altered metabolic aspect and dystrophic tendency of the uterus of the old rabbits.
